From Potentiality vs. Actuality at 550 Madison Ave! We worked closely with Gensler to visualize the revitalization of this lobby space while preserving the history of 550 Madison Ave – a postmodern icon of the New York skyline. Through both our renderings and these photographs, we can admire “a space that is both quiet yet powerful; respectful, yet not a reproduction; timeless, yet very much contemporary.” We are always excited to see how our imagery comes to life!

“I find architecture competitions a good reason to flex your mind creatively and see where you stand in relation to the collective order of things within the profession. The fixed deadline and topic gives you a structure to work with, but then you can go in with much greater freedom.”
– Igor Neminov, Art Director of Shimahara Visual
Congratulations to our very own Art Director, Igor Neminov! Each year, the Buildner Sugar Architectural Visualization Awards series seeks outstanding architectural visualizations of all kinds. It is one of the Builder’s ‘silent competitions,’ in which participants must communicate without the use of any text and through solely the use of visuals. In this worldwide competition, Igor’s piece titled “A Muted Icon” is the only entry from the United States that received an award! Congratulations again to Igor – we look forward to more of the beautiful work that you will produce!
This was an incredible collaboration with our friends and partners at P-A-T-T-E-R-N-S, excited to share the win with them!

“It always amazes me how a project changes the urban landscape surrounding it, you can instantly see how One Brickell City Centre complements and also stands out in the Miami skyline.” – Brian Martínez Román, Shimahara Visual NYC Studio Director

Reaching new heights, our imagery visualizes the future of the Miami skyline! One Brickell City Centre will be Miami’s first-ever supertall office tower. Developed by Related Companies and Swire Properties and Designed by Arquitectonica, the 68-story building is the tallest that the FAA has ever approved in Miami, and it is the maximum height permitted by aviation authorities in the city. We look forward to seeing how this project progresses!

Brian Martínez Román has 11 years of Architectural Visualization experience, and he has been Shimahara Visual’s New York Studio Director since 2017.
